Everything families usually want to know before care begins. Can’t find your answer? We’re happy to help.

We support adults living with developmental, intellectual, physical, cognitive, and mobility-related disabilities, including autism, acquired brain injuries, and the effects of stroke. We can also support individuals with mild to moderate behavioural support needs when their needs can be safely met within our non-medical scope of care.
Our support extends to older adults experiencing dementia or age-related changes, adults recovering at home, family caregivers who need respite, and individuals who could benefit from companionship, help with everyday routines, or greater participation in their community.
We don't define people by a diagnosis. Every person has different strengths, preferences, routines and goals. We take the time to understand the individual and their family, then build support around what matters most to them—independence, dignity, connection and quality of life.
We serve Edmonton, Sherwood Park and surrounding communities in Alberta. If you're just outside these areas, contact us and we'll let you know what we can arrange.
Yes. Each visit is scheduled for a minimum of two hours so care is unhurried and meaningful.
Yes. We provide weekend care at the same standard hourly rate, there is no weekend premium.
Every caregiver is carefully interviewed, reference-checked and screened, including a criminal record check. We hire for compassion and reliability first, then match caregivers to clients based on needs, personality and schedule.
Absolutely. A good match matters. If the fit isn't right for any reason, let us know and we'll arrange an alternative caregiver.
Transportation is not included in our service rates. Caregivers can assist with arranging a taxi or rideshare and accompany clients when required. Transportation costs are the responsibility of the client, and regular service rates apply during accompaniment
No. Colbecca provides non-medical support only. We do not provide nursing services, injections, clinical medical care or medication administration. We're happy to work alongside your healthcare providers.
In most cases care can begin within a few days of your consultation. For urgent or emergency respite, contact us and we'll do our best to accommodate you sooner.
We begin with a complimentary consultation to learn about your needs, preferences, routines, and the type of support you’re looking for. This gives you an opportunity to ask questions, learn more about our services, and determine whether Colbecca is the right fit.
If you choose to move forward, we’ll work with you to develop a personalized care plan and match you with a caregiver based on your needs and preferences. There is no obligation to begin services following the consultation.
We keep families updated through visit notes and regular check-ins, and you can always reach our team directly by email. Communication is one of the things we hold ourselves most accountable for.
No. While we proudly support seniors and older adults, Colbecca also supports younger and middle-aged adults who may need respite, disability support, companionship, daily living assistance, recovery support or help participating in their community.
Most support begins in the client's home. Depending on the individual's care plan, caregivers may also accompany clients into the community for appointments, errands, recreation and other meaningful activities.
Colbecca provides personalized, non-medical home and community support for adults with a wide range of needs.
We support adults living with intellectual, developmental, physical, mobility, and cognitive disabilities, including individuals with autism, ADHD, acquired brain injuries, and stroke-related disabilities. We also support individuals with behavioural support needs, depending on their individual circumstances and level of care required.
Our services are also suitable for adults who need respite or companionship, individuals recovering at home, people who need assistance with everyday routines or community participation, and older adults experiencing dementia or age-related changes.
Because every person is different, we focus on the individual rather than the diagnosis. We take the time to understand each person’s abilities, preferences, routines, goals, and support needs to determine how Colbecca can best support them. Caregivers are carefully selected to ensure they meet the requested need.
We don't rely on a general “Are you satisfied?” question. Our follow-ups look at specific aspects of care, including caregiver interaction, reliability, communication, engagement, adherence to the care plan and whether the client appears comfortable with the caregiver.
We want families to raise concerns early. We document and review concerns, speak with the people involved, assess any safety issues and determine appropriate next steps, which may include coaching, additional supervision, changes to the care plan or caregiver rematching.
Contact us for a complimentary consultation. We'll learn about your loved one's needs, routines, preferences and goals and determine whether Colbecca can safely and appropriately provide the support required.
Colbecca Care Partners accepts private-pay clients, with payment available by e-transfer, credit/debit card, or cheque.
We are also an approved Alberta Blue Cross CDHCI service provider for eligible Personal Care, Homemaking, and Respite services. Coverage and eligibility depend on the individual’s Alberta Blue Cross plan and approved benefits.
If you receive support through another self-managed or individualized funding program, please contact us to discuss your funding arrangement. We can provide detailed invoices and service documentation to support eligible reimbursement where applicable.
Yes. With the client’s consent, we keep designated family members informed about their loved one’s care. Families can receive updates following visits, including activities completed, the client’s overall well-being, and any important observations or concerns.
Our goal is to give families peace of mind while respecting each client’s privacy, dignity, and independence.
We’re here to help. Reach out and we’ll be happy to answer any questions about our services, care options, or how to get started.
